Branson, MO- Amidst the doping allegations and bad press that Russia is experiencing of their 2018 Olympic athletes, the country is trying to create a more positive image. And what better way to do that, then to bring back America’s Russian born sweetheart Yakov Smirnoff, and his 1986 “hit” sitcom ‘What a Country!’

It has been reported that many Russian Olympic hopefuls were using banned performance enhancing drugs… The same kind that you will need to be on, to stay awake through NBC’s new Thursday night lineup (which will also include the new spin-off LAW and ORDER: COSBY FILES).

The spin-off will co-star heartthrob Ice-T

We’re promising and all new lovable Russia, including kid friendly vodka drinks” the Russian Board of Tourism said this week. “Unfortunately, we have a real train wreck on our hands. That’s why we turned to NBC for help. After all, nobody knows about train wrecks better than NBC! Did you ever see Sean Saves the World? No? We’ll you’re not alone!

Ted Harbert, chairman of NBC Broadcasting, is excited to bring the lovable Ukrainian Yakov Smirnoff back to TV, “When the idea was pitched to us, at gun point by a shirtless Vladimir Putin, we knew had to make reboot this show.”

Producers say, “The new What a Country will set our old friend Yakov into a host of new modern day zany situations such as ‘Yakov goes to Starbucks’, “Yakov doesn’t understand twitter” and “Yakov votes for Trump, and gets himself deported!

The writers promise ton’s of entirely new Yakov jokes, such as:

  • In America they make 3 Hangover movies. In Russia, ‘3 hangovers’ is what we call at 3 day weekend!
  • In America, many men want to look like woman. In Russia, many woman already look like men!
  • In America, you get girl to “snap chat” you, you get friend. In Russia, girl give you her snap chat, you go to hospital!

The show is set to premiere on NBC this fall, and scheduled for cancellation in late fall!
