Newark, NJ – As the worlds focuses on racial tension between African-Americans and police it would seem that we are all ready to finally sit down and have a serious conversation about race. So when Susan Blanche of Forest Hill, NJ found out that her neighbor, Jerome Washington, outright refused to talk about the racial division plaguing the nation she was flabbergasted.
“I walked outside and he was washing his SUV so we started chatting about the weather, then our conversation casually shifted over to the recent police shootings. That’s when he waved his hand at me and said he didn’t want to talk about it,” concerned white neighbor Susan added “He just strolled back inside and told me he wanted to go watch The Bachelor. I just don’t know if I can trust him anymore.”
In our attempt to reach Washington for comment he repeated that “he didn’t want to talk about race”.
We spoke to one of his fellow workers, Pete Thomson, at Stan’s Auto. “I can only recall one time we talked about race,” Thomson claimed “he told me he loves the Chinaman Bruce Lee.”
